Lone Star GIAAA to host pearl seminar
Laguna Park, Texas--The Lone Star Gemological Institute of America Alumni and Associates (GIAAA) will hold an all-day, pearl-focused seminar next month, with speakers to include distinguished members of the jewelry industry.
"The World of Pearls--A New Profit Center for You," will take place on Sunday, Oct. 4, in Austin, Texas.
Topics will include: "The Five Virtues of South Sea Cultured Pearls," led by Carolyn Jacoby of Paspaley and the Cultured Pearl Association of America; "Building Relationships with Pearl Vendors," led by Adam Graham of the American Gem Trade Association; a presentation on Tahitian pearls, led by Michael Clarke of Stuller; a presentation on pearl treatments and lab services, led by Akira Hyatt of the GIA; and "Service Beyond the Sale--Are Your Customer's Precious Pearls Protected?," led by Linda Lambert of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co.
